Fall Florals + Pops of Red

Happy Saturday Loves! I don’t know about you guys, but I am SO HAPPY it’s the weekend. This week flew by, but I was so incredibly exhausted. Does anyone else make big plans to be super productive at the end of the week, but then get home and just fall asleep as soon as you sit down on the couch? Yeah, that was me last night.

Anyway, I can’t tell you enough how much I LOVE this dress! The coloring is so perfect for fall, and the details really make it a standout piece. Whether it’s the bright red ruffle hem, or the detachable velvet bow on the neckline, I just can’t get enough! I’ve decided that I want my closet to become more unique and eclectic recently, and this piece is a step in the right direction. I’m taking a stand against the easy oversized sweater and legging combo that I gravitated towards often last winter, and trying to find more interesting pieces, or add a standout accessory to step my outfits up a notch each day. Simply adding this double ring belt really pulled my outfit together, and added some shape to the dress! Also, P.S.A. This belt, which looks very similar to the iconic Gucci belt, is a perfect dupe at a fraction of the cost. And when I say fraction, I mean less than twenty dollars!! The Summer of Midi Dresses

Hi Loves! I hope everyone is having a relatively smooth Monday, and a good start to your week! I'm having such a hard time believing that we're already close to the end of July - where has summer gone?? I've been doing everything I can to squeeze in as much time outside as possible, whether that means going for a long run/walk by the lake in the morning instead of a gym workout, eating dinner outside at night, or just taking a break midday and getting a little extra sunlight. What are you guys doing to make the most of the warm summer weather?!

On another note, this yellow floral number is the perfect summer date night dress. The flirty low back and ruffle hem add a playful element to the look, and I don't think it's possible to be in anything but a good mood in this cheery lemon yellow color. Fave Guest of Wedding Dress

Have you ever come across something while you're online shopping and immediately thought, "OMG I NEED THAT IN MY LIFE?" Well, that's me most days, especially when I'm browsing ASOS, but I usually have self-control and refrain from actually buying anything. That was not the case with this dress. I told myself to think about it for an hour while I worked on something else to see if I r e a l l y couldn't live without it (this is a good life skill to work on for those of you out there who love shopping as much as me). And for that entire hour all I could think about was, "What if it sells out of my size before I get a chance to buy it??" I think you guys all know how this story ends.

BUT, I am a firm believer that it's always a good idea to have a few formal dresses on deck for weddings, dressy events, or anything that pops up at the last minute (ESPECIALLY for anything that pops up at the last minute)! I've been in the situation where I've been invited to a formal or black tie event at the last minute, and had to scramble to find something to wear. This not only leaves you with limited options, but can be extremely stressful. So, when you find that perfect dress, treat yourself once in a while, and then find a reason to wear it later. Love for Linen

Happy Sunday! I hope everyone is enjoying their holiday weekend! It has been crazy busy over here between getting together with friends and starting to pack for our trip to Europe next week! I'm so stressed about packing though. Does this happen to anyone else?! What are some of your travel secrets to staying sane right before a trip? I always feel like I'm going to forget something. Ahh!

Anyway, I wanted to share this adorable midi dress with you guys today! There's just something about a linen dress that feels SO summer, and the material is light and airy on top of that to help keep you cool on those super hot days! I love how the midi length balances out the cutout waist - proportion is key when playing with cutouts like this, and this dress from Tobi (www.tobi.com) is actual perfection! I accessorized with some pops of pink to make my look a little more playful. I bought these shoes in multiple colors because they are so incredibly comfortable, and can we also talk about how cute this clutch is?! I'll definitely have these on repeat this summer. Off shoulder? Check. Stripes? Check. A dress that can be worn more than one way? Sold. I can't get enough of this gorgeous midi dress from Loft - the length is ultra feminine and flattering, and the ruffle detail truly makes this piece stand out from the crowd. The best part though? The tie straps can be tucked into the dress if you want a true off shoulder look! As far as accessories, I decided to go very simple to keep the focus on the stripe and ruffle details of the dress - just a floating diamond necklace and casual platform sandals. Derby Ready

Fake it till you make it there - the Kentucky Derby that is! I don't know about you guys, but I'm always looking for a reason to dress up, and a Kentucky Derby party hits the spot. It's crazy to think that the Derby is less than three weeks away - don't wait until the last minute to put together your outfit! Even if you're not traveling to Churchill Downs for the event (I'm not either, unfortunately!), you can still dress like you are - why waste such a great opportunity to wear fancy hats and parade around with a mint julep in hand?

Many people go back and forth on whether to buy your dress or hat first. I struggled with this too initially! It's easy to find yourself thirty pages deep in Etsy trying to find the perfect hat, but this can be so overwhelming. I ended up finding my dress and shoes first, and then searched for a coordinating hat. I found that ordering my dress and seeing the true colors in person helped me decide which color palette I wanted to go with for the rest of my outfit. I was able to find my fascinator at a department store (which saved some money!) - Boston Store and Nordstrom both have great selections! Work to Happy Hour

I don't know about you, but it's hard for me to turn down happy hour with friends; it's a great way to relax after a stressful day at work, and, when the weather is nice, to check out new outdoor bars and restaurants (rooftops are my absolute fave!!). Layers and accessories are key for transitioning your outfit from work to happy hour though. When I was in New York recently, I wore this midi dress/vest/lace up heels combo to meetings with vendors (and a meeting with my company's CEO!) - I felt very put together and trend-right, and had more confidence in everything I did because I felt that I looked good. I'm a big believer in the saying, "Look good, feel good." When I went to dinner with one of my best friends after my meetings though, I wanted to be a little more casual. I ditched the vest and heels, and changed into some studded slip on sneakers - a ten second switch! Sidenote on these sneakers - the first time I wore them to work, I received a TON of compliments. Happy Monday everyone! Today I'm sharing a trend that has taken a little bit of time to win me over: the slip dress. When I first noticed these creeping onto the fashion scene, I honestly thought they looked like nightgowns (some of them definitely still do), but I've come to realize how versatile they can be! The slip dress is a great option if you need an outfit that will easily transition from day to night. I topped mine off with an army green vest, and knotted the dress at the side to create a more casual look that's perfect for work or running around on the weekend.
